The town is quite clearly arranged. It currently has about 3400 inhabitants and is located about 40 km from Palma. Every year, a melon festival is held there, which attracts many visitors from near and far. In the past, the town was characterised by fruit and vegetable shops. The colourful stalls could be seen from far away. Because of the town bypass, Vilafranca is in danger of sinking into a slumber.

It is the ideal place for people who want to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and appreciate the tranquil country life.

If you are looking for a change of pace in a larger city, you can reach Palma and Manacor, as well as the north of the island, easily via the MA 15 motorway.
