In the west of the island of Mallorca lies the municipality of Andratx, which has just under eleven thousand inhabitants. The town of the same name is not a typical tourist destination, it does not have its own beach and does not have the typical Spanish town centre with pedestrian zone. Nevertheless, Andratx has its own charm: surrounding the town are eight peaks of the Tramuntana mountains, which are between three hundred and nine hundred and fifty metres high.…

They characterise the magnificent landscape of the region and attract numerous hikers every year. The area is particularly attractive in spring, when the valley is bathed in a colourful blaze of flowers. The almond blossom in February and March provides a marvellous backdrop for walks and hikes.
Luxury yachts dock in the impressive harbour of Port d'Andratx. The small town has become a favourite place to live for wealthy foreigners. The magnificent villas nestled on the hillside near the harbour are mainly inhabited by Germans. Beautiful sandy beaches can be found just outside the town centre at Sant Elm, Sa Dragonera or Camp de Mar.
Andratx is famous for its festivals, the local fiestas, which attract tourists not only from the town but from all over the island. They take place throughout the summer months, starting with Sant Cristofol at the beginning of July, followed by Verge del carme in Port d'Andratx in mid-July, Sant Augusti in August and finally Nuestra Señora de la Trapa at the beginning of September.
